A group of students from The Global College visited the European Parliament last month to see first-hand international politics in action.
Consisting of students pursuing the IB curriculum in History or Politics, or being part of the Debating Club at the College, the group were invited to Brussels as guests of MEP Antonio López-Istúriz.
During their trip, the students spent a full day in the Parliament and met with President of the Parliament, Roberta Metsola. They had the chance to ask about life working in European politics, and saw for themselves the day-to-day of working within the corridors of power.
For many, the trip served as inspiration to one day make the same journey themselves as Roberta – determined to take a seat of democracy as representatives of their nations.
