OUR DNA

With its humanistic spirit and experience, its entrepreneurial character, its innovative vision and attention to academic rigor and human growth, The Global College is committed to training young people who will make a difference in a globalized society. The practical approach to learning begins in the classroom and continues in different parts of the world with the aim of producing active, global and caring citizens who share a commitment to create a better, fairer and more equitable world.

The Global College is built on five key principles: respect, diversity, entrepreneurship, humanities, and technology. They are elements in our genetic code that determine the way we function and the quality of the education we provide. These traits complement each other in providing the best possible service to our students, their families, our faculty and to society as a whole.

A COLLEGE OF RESPECT

We actively promote the value of RESPECT with a three-pronged approach:

  • Respect for oneself. Cultivating an attitude of self-respect enhances self-esteem and confidence, allowing the students to set high personal goals (purpose), attain an emotional balance (mind) and lead a healthy lifestyle (body).
  • Respect for others. We promote the understanding of other people’s values, ideas and beliefs in all relationships between students, their teachers and staff members. This is the basis of honesty, empathy, trust and meaningful interaction.
  • Respect for the planet. We foster awareness and responsibility regarding environmental issues, promoting global citizenship committed to a free, fair, and sustainable world.

a global and diverse community

A GLOBAL & DIVERSE COMMUNITY

We strive to achieve a diverse and cosmopolitan college community. We believe that different nationalities, ideas, opinions and cultures help to enrich the students’ learning experience, develop their cultural awareness, and promote their respect and intercultural understanding, while also providing the best education for a complex and increasingly connected world.

Our curriculum is taught in English and other modern languages are available as elective subjects. Our inspiring program has a distinctive international approach. It instils high standards and promotes open-mindedness, preparing students for accessing top international universities.

Entrepreneurship skills and mindset

ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET

The Global College promotes entrepreneurship to help students grow as individuals that recognize opportunities, solve problems, act on initiative, and accept responsibility and risk. These will be all essential skills in a highly automated future, dominated by artificial intelligence.

Entrepreneurship skills and mindset are related not only to economic activities and business creation, but also, in a broader sense, to all areas of life and society. Through the Entrepreneurship Project, we empower students with a critical understanding of social, environmental and ethical challenges, while helping them to see the power of entrepreneurship in driving positive social change.

HUMANITIES AS THE BACKBONE

Humanities are essential to our future, helping us to retain value in the face of rapid automation of repetitive tasks. But, most importantly, they can serve as rudders in an exponentially changing world. Literature, art, philosophy, history or poetry help people and societies to flourish. They not only provide extremely valuable cultural foundations, but they also teach us how to think and communicate. Clarity of thought and expression are virtues that The Global College firmly promotes. In addition, it is only through the study and critique of humanities that individuals and societies will be able to answer the complex questions raised by technological and social change.

DRIVING INNOVATION, EMBRACING TECHNOLOGY

Although technology has led to profound changes in almost every aspect of our lives, it hasn’t  significantly changed the standard processes of learning and teaching at schools. The Global College wants to close this “technology gap”, incorporating tech-based methodologies and pedagogies, along with the best practices from the international arena.

Through these innovations –backed by scientific knowledge on how the human brain works–, we improve teaching practices and personalize more the learning experience, improving student outcomes. Our college works with the IE Center for Liquid Learning and is open to sharing research and collaborating with other organisations and schools that are equally interested in developing new and exciting educational approaches. These are great times for forward-thinking colleges!
