Our math department, lead by Ioannis Daglas, has been working with the University of Warwick, one of the UKs premier institutes for the study of Mathematics, on extension and mathematical development of our most advanced students.
The Global College students have taken part in online classes led by Warwick Maths candidates over the past months, developing their skills and extending their knowledge and understanding. This will not only help them as they tackle the challenge set out in the IB Maths program, but also puts them in good stead for when they apply to math courses at university, wherever they end up applying to.
We also welcomed one of the Warwick students as a Mathematician in Residence during the last term, giving our most enthusiastic mathematicians a chance to speak to a student working at the highest level.
