Representatives from some of the world’s leading universities have visited students at The Global College as they begin to think about their futures beyond their time with us.
In a number of different events designed at helping our students think about the university application process, research the variety of courses on offer, consider a city or a campus university, and more, we have received visits from the Imperial College London, London School of Economics, University College London, the University of Toronto, New York University, Georgetown University, Dartmouth College, Duke University, Northwestern University, and Vanderbilt University.
Over the course of the presentations, our students have learned a number of key factors that will make the difference when it comes to applying to the world’s leading universities. These include:
- Present strong grades
- Writing an amazing personal essay
- Demonstrating a passion and depth in extracurricular activities
- Applying on time
Ensuring our students are best prepared for university life is of vital importance to us at the college. As well as offering a wide range of subjects as part of the IB program that allows students to choose subjects they are passionate about, we also offer many extra curricular activities, and also encourage the development of key skills and competencies, which can be worked on through our Entrepreneurship program, for example.
Four students offered scholarships by University of Toronto
So impressed by our students when they came to visit that the University of Toronto has already offered four students a scholarship for their online Perspectives on Global Business Course.
Matilda Vallée Llorente, Niccolo Ripoll, Laura Carbajo and Antonio Ramos were awarded the scholarship after representatives from the university were impressed by their proactivity, the quality and interest of their questions and the attention received by the faculty members.
The Perspectives on Global Business Course is an intensive online program for high school students interested in learning more about modern business from all angles, from risk management to marketing and entrepreneurship. It includes case studies, interactive activities, teamwork with students from all over the world and a capstone project where they will pitch their own business ideas and plan.
