Students of IBDP 2 have embarked on a journey with the launch of their philanthropic endeavor, “Global for Cambodia.” Spearheaded by the dynamic team comprising Catalina, Laura, Martina, Celia, and Pedro, this fundraising project is born out of a deep-seated commitment to continue the support for the communities they selflessly served during the Cambodia Volunteering Program last summer.
The primary objective of Global for Cambodia is to mobilize resources for the construction of houses in farming communities. These residences will serve a dual purpose – providing shelter for individuals who possess expertise in imparting invaluable farming techniques to the local Cambodian populace.
By establishing such dwellings, the project aspires to create a sustainable ecosystem that fosters agricultural knowledge and uplifts the livelihoods of the Cambodian communities.
Beyond the immediate goal of housing, the visionary students have set their sights on a goal – raising funds for the Obrum Education Project. This initiative is dedicated to advancing education in remote rural areas, addressing the pressing need for accessible and quality learning opportunities. The funds generated through Global for Cambodia will contribute to the realization of this educational project, leaving an enduring impact on the lives of those in far-flung regions.
The enduring spirit of altruism embodied by Catalina, Laura, Martina, Celia, and Pedro resonates through Global for Cambodia, symbolizing a commitment to creating positive change and leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and progress in the communities they are dedicated to serve.
As the fundraising campaign gains momentum, the students hope to inspire a ripple effect of generosity and support that transcends borders, reaching far and wide to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.
