Recognizing the growing importance of technology in everyday life and business, The Global College’s IB Computer Science students will now learn coding by tackling a real-world business problem. Professors David Diaz and Farayi Maponga have developed a case study that simulates a potential merger between two international airlines. This innovative approach reflects our commitment to interdisciplinary teaching and aims to provide students with practical, hands-on experience.
Through this case study, students will explore the complexities of business decisions related to information systems. They will address challenges such as the duplication of systems and ensuring compatibility between the merging companies. In addition, students will learn coding by developing a registration and boarding application, which will help them understand industry standards in software development and testing.
By integrating business management concepts with computer science skills, this project will prepare our students to navigate the intersection of technology and business, equipping them with valuable insights and practical skills for their future careers.
