Students at The Global College kicked off their entrepreneurial projects with an engaging and thought-provoking activity: the Marshmallow Challenge. Originally created by Peter Skillman, this exercise tasks teams with building the tallest free-standing structure they can using only spaghetti sticks and marshmallows—within just 18 minutes.
The challenge is more than just fun; it’s a dynamic way to highlight critical entrepreneurial skills. By tackling this hands-on task, students learn to identify assumptions, test ideas, and adapt their approach—skills essential for innovation and problem-solving. The activity also encourages quick thinking, creativity, and collaboration, offering students a practical taste of the teamwork needed in the entrepreneurial world.
This exciting start to their projects set the tone for a term of exploration, innovation, and growth, as students begin their journey to develop real-world solutions through entrepreneurial thinking.
