ARE YOU A BOARDING STUDENT?

IMMIGRATION & GUARDIANSHIP

If you are a boarding student or moving to Spain without your parents, there are important legal requirements you must meet to obtain legal status in Madrid for the duration of the program. These processes can be complex and time-consuming, we recommend that all students, regardless of nationality, start the visa application as soon as possible. Please review our guide below.

⚠️Important update on Spanish Immigration Regulations affecting Non EU/EEA/Swiss boarders.⚠️

We would like to inform you that Spanish immigration regulations are changing, with new rules set to take effect on May 20th.  This change will impact all visa applications submitted after that date. We strongly advise you to submit the visa application before this date to ensure that the visa is granted under the previous, and more favourable regulations.

Therefore, as getting the documentation ready can take various weeks, we recommend initiating the process as soon as possible. We have special agreements with expert lawyers in immigration that are ready to assist you immediatly. However families are free to choose the professional they consider most suitable for their visa application process.

Please be aware that the students will need to renew their visa for their second year of studies and the new regulation might apply then.

The Global College is taking all necessary actions to ensure a smooth visa process and favourable outcome for all students.

ARRIVAL & ORIENTATION

We are excited to welcome you on Saturday August 30th, from 3 PM at the boarding house, and at 7 PM on campus for our Welcome & Orientation Sessions for students and families.

The Orientation program continues for students on Sunday and Monday.

If your family is staying in Madrid during Orientation program, you will still have some free time to spend with them. However, it is preferred that students sleep at the boarding house to settle well.

For students arriving on their own, the boarding team can make provisions for the student’s arrival and even organize pick-up at the airport.

PRIVATE MEDICAL INSURANCE

We have agreements with two leading Spanish private healthcare providers offering medical insurance plans at better fees for members of our community.

Families are encouraged to contact the companies directly to discuss policy specifics, terms and conditions, contracting process and payment requirements. We also recommend comparing these plans with other Spanish providers before making a decision.
